16 Month Letter

Hey Buddy, 

You are a good little buddy. My little side kick.  I have caught myself saying "Come here Buddy!" or "It's OK buddy!" or "awwww buddy!" a lot lately.  Maybe its because even more of your personality is coming through.  You are a funny guy and love a good joke.  You have the sweetest laugh and your smile is a mile wide! (with LOTS of new teeth coming in....your whole jawline looks different!) A few of your favorite jokes are when anyone pretends they're hurt (head bonking for example), peek a boo, anything your sister does, messing with the dog, running around like a naked maniac, getting tickled, etc.

I think this is your first ice cream cone to hold yourself??

You love the park. You love to swing, climb, slide and play in the sand.  You are not afraid of anything.  I have to keep a hawk eye on you b/c you are FAST and you climb up everything! 

You spend lots of time in the play area with your sister. You color together, build towers, play tree house, jump into the pillows, build forts, do puzzles, play cars, etc. You will chase each other back and forth across the living room. You dance together and you do great ballet moves. You dress up together (yes...you put on your sister's princess dresses. You especially love to wear the high heels! ) Playtime together has been more fun than ever.  You LOVE your sister and always want to do what she is doing! You mimic her so much that you have even started to bring your dinner plate to the sink after you eat! Incredible! B just started doing this a couple of months ago...

We flew to Oklahoma for a weekend to attend your Great-Grandma Wanda's funeral.  It was wonderful to see family and many we were meeting for the first time! 

We got some good cousin time and even got to see LoLo and Brad for a bit as they cruised through on their weekend date. 

We hit up the Oklahoma Aquarium.  You loved it and ran from tank to tank checking things out. 

We arrived early to preschool one day, and you were invited to join the students for some crafting. 

We did some beach combing at Crystal Cove one day.

Easter painting fun.  The Easter Bunny didn't forget about you! We had a wonderful easter with Happy and Nana.  Dying eggs, egg hunts in the backyard, brunch out, dinner ordered in! 

Your hair is still california blonde and always a mess =) crazy hair, don't care. That's our motto. 

We did a little kitchen upgrade and put in more counter space.  Maybe I won't have to kick you out of the kitchen so much now! 

practicing using the new beach tent.  You are still a hungry little guy, but when you are not hungry you let us know by throwing your food everywhere. Not cool. You love Avocado's so much that we call you an Avocad-HO.  haha.  You also love bread, BARS, crushers, oranges, french fries, beans, seaweed, and meat (in small doses)

Your napping has become a little more predictable, but you are typically just a one or none a day napper.  If we are home you will typically go down around 10 for 30 min -2.5 hours. You will often fall asleep in the car too.  You have slept through our 10-12 mediation class a couple of times this month! You start in your floor bed at night around 7 pm.  You will join us in our bed around midnight. (some nights earlier some later....one night you made it until 5 am! ) You are a hard core snuggler (wrestler) at night.  You love to put your head right on top of my head and press down.  hard.  Like I can't breathe.  I love that you want to be as close to me as possible, but it is also affecting my claustrophobia...

These pics are so you.  I see you turning into a big, toddler boy before my eyes.  You are rocking your big boy shoes more and more.  You are steady on your feet and full speed ahead.  I am so enjoying this ride with you, my sweet, sweet boy.
