We drove as far as we could on Sunday (about 10 hours) and got a hotel somewhere in New Mexico. We hit the road early Monday. Our initial plan was to go to the Grand Canyon, but as we got closer it was gray and raining and it would be 2 hours out of the way and we were ready for a hotel room so we headed straight to Vegas instead.
We arrived in vegas around dinner time and had a room at the Imperial Palace (cheap! 40 bucks a night and right on the strip!) We immediately hit the craps tables...and pretty much didn't do much else for 2 days! We won some...but we lost a lot more! Let's just say our trip did not pay for itself at the craps tables.
Wednesday we left for the 5 hour drive back to Santa Monica. We were both a little sad that our trip we had been planning on for so long was actually over. It was back to the real world and the hustle and bustle of LA. Jess had to go back to work on Friday!! I still get the rest of August off. School starts Sept. 3.
