1. Solstice Canyon, Malibu, CA
A short drive to a popular hiking trail. We knew it would be a casual stroll and we could take Leon. A wildfire burned down a couple of old mansions years ago, and their structural remains are the highlight of this hike.
2. Palos Verdes Nature Preserve, Palos Verdes, CA
We got a hiking backpack to put B in for this one! Beautiful ocean vistas were what this hike was all about. We got a nice workout but not too bad. B even fell asleep in her backpack on her daddy! Afterwards, we had a nice lunch at a whale watching spot after our hike (its that time of year!) but we did not get lucky.
3. El Matador Beach, Malibu, CA
This was the beach where I took my maternity photos in April of last year. We wanted to reenact those pictures with Baby B. We considered this a hike b/c it is a long way down and up those steps! We took photos, collected rocks for the garden, and lounged on the sand. Daddy and B even got in the water a bit!
