There were a lot of firsts for B on this trip: plane ride, trip to Colorado (I hope there are many more!), wedding, rainstorm, hail storm, mountains, farm...
We arrived to CO at 2 am. B was great on both plane rides. We had to go through San Jose. She slept the whole time. Jess held her for 2 hours straight and let me sleep. His arms almost fell off. We rented a car and a carseat. The carseat from Budget was circa 1990 and we could not install it. There were 2 good Samaritans, a firefighter and a dad, that volunteered to help us. The firefighter was stumped but the dad installed it like a pro. It was a terribly uncomfortable seat for B and she screamed the whole time she was in it.
We met our friends Eric and laurel in boulder for lunch at my favorite spot Southern Sun. We had a 2 hour lunch catching up and talking babies. They are 7 months pregnant!
The wedding started at 3:30 and there was a scary storm on the horizon. The wedding was on a farm in Longmont, and a few things did not go as planned:
1) wedding party was late b/c google maps sent them to Lyons-30 minutes away!
2) so wedding did not start until 4
3) groom never received his tie from said wedding party
4) storm was literally brewing above the ceremony
5) guests make it inside the barn just in time for reception before torrential downpour and hailstorm. This part was cool until the water started flooding into the barn.
6)wedding party caught in rainstorm while taking photos
7) the band never showed up. Got lost and got stuck in mud!
The best part was the bride and groom could care less about all of these things!! They were so happy and in love and just happy to be married. They are a sweet family of 5 now combining 3 kids between the two of them. Love this sweet family! Thanks for letting us spend this day with you celebrating love!
Sunday, we headed to Denver to hang out with the cannons. We love when we get to spend time with this fam. Conversation, stories and laughing galore. Hazel had changed so much since we saw her at thanksgiving. She is cruising around and so sweet. She loved meeting baby Breckin. She kept gently touching her cheek saying "it's oTay". We munched in Sonic and walked Pearl street before heading to the airport.
Southwest in Denver would not let B on the flight without having proof of age. Are you kidding! She's 2 months old! She doesn't even have a birth certificate yet! She obviously is not 2! LAX did not even mention anything! So we had to buy her a ticket and we have to fax in her proof of age to get a refund. This caused Jess to have his usual airport rant. Some people need to have more common sense and be a little more human. Grrr.
Well...it was a full flight so we used that ticket to our advantage and didn't let anyone take the middle seat. Haha. B slept on the seat in a swaddle the entire flight.
All in all...a success! Now we are definitely ready for OK in September!

I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT ABOUT THE TICKET. OH MY GOSH. That sucks so bad. THey so better give you a refund! I also didn't know you got to see the Cannons!!!??? How fun!!!! Hazel is getting so big. She's a sugar butt. All these pics are so fun and so good. In all the first ones I was starting to think B was looking more and more like Jess and then in that last one with you and liz and z I think she looks JUST LIKE GENEVIEVE!!! What in the heck! I am dying to snuggle her. Glad you got away and had some fun! xoxo
