Your Royall Blogness: 31 years young

Back on February 3rd I turned the big 3-1. Nana and Happy came to town for my birthday weekend (but mostly to see baby B!) It was a fun weekend. On Saturday, KU played Texas in basketball, so we invited the texas folk over for some fun backyard basketball watching. I made some delicious pigs in blanket and beer-ritas (tequila shot in a budweiser in a salt rimmed glass w/ lime...sounds weird, but so awesome!). And we also put a beer butt chicken on the grill. yum! B ended up taking a 3 hour nap on her Nana during the party! Kansas lost, but it was a lot of fun.

Sunday was the super bowl. Seahawks vs. Broncos. Before the game, we went out for breakfast at Spitfire Grill. B had a tummy ache, so we were loving on her for most of the day. Ryan and Serene brought some snacks to our house and we all watched the entire game together. It was quite a boring game with the Broncos getting slaughtered. The most exciting part was drinking another beer-rita.

Getting a bath from Nana

Monday was my birthday, and boy oh boy did I get spoiled. Nana made us sausage biscuits for breakfast. Jess had to go to work. Happy, Nana, B and I headed to Main Street in santa monica where Nana treated me to a mani/pedi while she watched B. After our mani/pedi, we headed over to pick up some burgers and fries for lunch in the park with Jess. This is where Jess surprised me with the juicer. Jess went back to work and the rest of us shopped around for the rest of the afternoon. That evening, we put B to bed and Jess took me out on a date! We went to a sushi place in Venice that we had never been to and it was good. After dinner, we went to a buddy's 10 years in LA anniversary party at a bar in santa monica. We had a drink and then headed home by midnight! B hadn't made a peep all night. It was an awesome visit from Happy and Nana and a very happy birthday to me!
