Your Royall Blogness: Happy and Nana Visit!

Back in April, we had a week long visit from Happy and Nana. The original plan was that Nana would come stay a couple of days with us, Jess and I would leave and go to the music/camping festival Coachella (we had our tickets since last may!), and we would come back after a couple of days and hang with Nana and Happy. Well...we decided it was not the best time to leave B. We had not even left her for one night, let alone two. She was also in the stage where she realizes when mommy leaves the room and she did not like that very much. She was also not sleeping very well at night. So, long story short, we decided to stay and Nana and Happy still flew out for a visit.

In no particular order, their visit went like this (lots of pictures of breckin!):

B turned 10 months old while her grandparents were in town! We did our monthly photo shoot. B was super happy to be 10 months old!

Nana brought this quilt that DG had made Breckin. DG is Jess's maternal grandma. It is such a thoughtful gift that will be treasured by B forever. DG even matched the colors of her nursery!

Nana arrived a few days before Happy. One day we walked to our neighborhood park while Jess was at work. It was so HOT! Breckin loves the park. She mostly likes to stare at all the big kids.

She loves to kick her feet up on stroller rides. Not so much into the rice cracker.

Nana was so sweet in taking Breckin for long stretches so Mama could get some sleep or go get a haircut!! One time, I walked out onto this scene after my nap. This is a peaceful slumber on nana.

Nana, B and I took a daily adventure to the Reel Inn in Malibu. A fish shack with long picnic benches right on the PCH. I was craving fish tacos and I wanted to show Nana these old abandoned cabins on the PCH that I want to buy and fix up (pipe dream). Turns out, B LOVES fish. She could have had 2 fish tacos to herself.

There was lots of playtime with nana.

There was time for a little kicking back and relaxing in the backyard.

Happy is here! Happy joined us on Friday.

We went to Maxwell's for breakfast where B ate her weight in black beans and later paid for it.

We did a reimagineing of the "Activities/Record Player Area". We tipped the shelf from longways to tall ways and made it a partition. We took the black shelves/window seat out to the garden to use as a planter. We got a futon to add to the mix. We also have a new shelf for the record player (not pictured). It has already become a much more used space. You can sit on the futon and still feel part of the living room. But it is also a nice guest room space. We love it!

The receiver and record player are now on a side table thing and there is a basket at the top of the shelves, but you get the general idea here!

B played while the men worked!

Happy and Nana took Jess shopping for his birthday. He got some really cute new work shirts! (what 32 year olds get excited about!) Breckin got a new sippy cup that she can actually drink out of!
