We had a great 3-day memorial weekend celebrating Jess's b-day!
FRIDAY:
Jess got off work at 3 on Friday (never happens!!), so he got home in time to join in on TGIFMG (Thank Goodness its Friday Moms Group) at our house with Wilder, Brooke and Brett.
Team Purple
SATURDAY:
Jess wanted a pair of porch/house shoes and he saw some he liked at a country western store in van nuys. We loaded up for a trip to the valley. Jess got his shoes and B got her first pair of wranglers (wrangler bloomers!! not pictured, unfortunately). We got lunch at Outlaws which turned out to be delicious! I had a spicy meatball sandwich that I have been seriously dreaming about ever since. They gave us brownies called afterburners and they really did burn your mouth! Spicy brownies!
Then it was back home to get ready for the evening's festivities...The Big Lebowski in the park! I made a cake and a jug of white russians (caucasians...of course). We dusted off the camp chairs and loaded up. Friends met out house and we carpooled over to Griffith Park!
The set up was so cool! tons of space, beautiful surroundings, food trucks, and a band on stage playing the soundtrack to the movie. We hung out, ate from a food truck, and drank until the movie started.
B's shirt is a Big Lebowski quote: "That's just like your opinion, man"
Bobby and his girlfriend came!

B was glad Wilder could come hang out!
SUNDAY the 25th (actual birthday):
We had leftover birthday cake for breakfast. Jess put on his new Thunder jersey from Ryan and Serene.

We then got ready for 2 parties: Emma's first birthday and a wedding party for my St. Matt's friend Kate. We did not take pics at either party, but I stole these birthday pics from Wilder's dad:
We were pooped after the parties, so we watched the Thunder game and passed out early.
REI was having a big sale, and we need a camp stove and air mattress for the upcoming Huck Finn Jubilee. We hit a garage sale first and scored major with some "new" clothes for B, then headed to birthday brunch #2 before REI. Breckin was such a good restaurant date this weekend!
The trip to REI was unsuccessful (they had zero air mattresses?!), so we went to see Isla to cheer us up. This was jess's first time to meet her!
Had to capture these two! Almost one year old and almost one week old.
We spent the rest of the day hanging in the backyard watching daddy to yard work. It was so hot so I made the 3 of us blueberry, strawberry, banana, spinach, greek yogurt, coconut milk smoothies. B slurped hers down so fast!!

AN AWESOME B-DAY WEEKEND! HAPPY 32 TO OUR ONE AND ONLY, MOST HANDSOME-EST DADDY IN ALL THE LAND!
