B started Preschool last week at the cutest place called PeaPods Schoolhouse. It is a home in a sweet neighborhood that has been transformed into a school house. She goes on Mondays and Wednesdays and so far she is loving it! She talks about Jen and Nancy (teachers) and her friends. All the kids are ages 2.5-3.5…including her friends Wilder and Lua who she knew before school. She goes from 9-3 and this includes a nap time where she has her own little cot =) It is a Reggio school which is a cool preschool philosophy that celebrates children's curiosity and creativity. We are loving it.
Once a month, the class gets together for a Sunday field trip with families. The Sunday before she started we met her teachers and class at Temescal Canyon for a hike.
B loved the magnifying glass!
Jason is Jen's husband who also helps out at the school. B loved him immediately! He is an anthropologist.
We read "The night before preschool" the night before preschool =) B was so excited about school ever since we were in Oklahoma and we took/picked up her cousins from school. She loved how they got to make their lunches too.
She helped me pack her lunch and wore her backpack around the house for 45 minutes before we left. She was so excited!
Thumbs up!
All smiles and silly!
here we go!
She immediately started playing with all the cool stuff and barely said goodbye to us when we left.
Jess and I hid in the house for a little bit the first day and spied on her. She played the bells during circle/song time and played with a little's girls braids during snack time. She wasn't missing us at all!
We were invited to go on Tuesday at 11 to see a firetruck and meet the firefighters. As soon as they pulled up they got a call for a fire and had to leave! We waved and got to see/hear the sirens. Then we stayed to play with our friends for a bit.
The climbing tree. B is a fan.
The second day and she was just as excited. She wears sunglasses now b/c she hates the sun in her eyes. She yells "go away sun!!!"
We got there just as wilder was getting there and he said "hi breck B!" and she said "hi wilder!" and they held hands and walked into school together.
The third day (last Monday) and she was super excited about her new lunchbox that came in the mail over the weekend. She was a little resistant to me leaving her on this day, but I think it is b/c we had such a great weekend together. A case of the mondays. She was a happy girl after I left.
Again, super excited about her lunch. And had to wear her shades. B is loving preschool!
