Back in September, Breckin and I were lucky enough to take a rare fall trip to the farm for 10 whole days! The only thing missing was daddy, who stayed behind to work hard and complete a list of pre-baby honey-do's.
Breckin has this traveling thing down. I was a little nervous being hugely pregnant and traveling solo with B, but she did awesome. I had even considered attaching a leash to her backpack (she likes to run off) but I was too embarrassed to pull it out.
Pop and Gag picked us up from the airport and we arrived at the Schatzels just as they were getting out of school. B found some cool toys in the garage, including this rad KU helmet!
B and G loved being reunited and they picked up right where they left off. These girls can't get enough of each other! There are rarely in disagreements, and lots of sharing, playing, conversations, and giggling. When we asked them if they were cousins or sisters they would shout "sisters!"
B was pretty impressed by this Gator that she could drive around the farm!
The farm was having a bit of a chicken problem while we were there. This round of chickens liked to roost everywhere EXCEPT the chicken coop. Their favorite spots were the tree above mom and dad's porch, in the garage, and on the back deck. B even found an egg on the back deck and we cooked it and ate it =)
the farm has the BEST sunsets
The next day after we arrived was game day in Stillwater! We were so excited to tailgate and go to the game. This was B's second OSU game (she went to the K-state game as a baby). It took her awhile to warm up to tailgating (she slept most of the time), but by the end she was running around with G in their cheerleading uniforms having fun.
We got to sit with Papa in the good seats. The pre game festivities were a bit overwhelming and Pistol Pete's gun was surprising, but she got the hang of it towards the second quarter. Especially when Papa bought her some popcorn.
We headed back to the tailgate at halftime. It was already a blowout (vs. UTSA) and we listened to the rest of the game from the tailgate chairs.
B also loves her big boy cousins Ben and Des. When the Schatzels came to Cali in July, B would confusingly call Des by Ben's name (so Ben was Ben and Des was Ben too). During this visit, she kept this up but thought it was a funny joke.
this is Miss Pearl, the new farm cat. She is so tiny and cute and I don't even like cats. B fell in love with Miss Pearl as well and was always looking for her or playing with her.
B learned all about Mr. Potato head at pop and gags house. She loved it so much that Lolo sent B home with one of the potato heads and some of its parts…he came in very handy on our super long travel day back to CA!
These girls. We would often find them in G's room with the door closed just talking and giggling.
only pick of all 4!
Brad was there too! He had to work most of the week, but we got some uncle time.
We got to see Ben in action with the Bullfrogs!
Mandatory cousin bath
lots of iPad time
holding Miss Pearl while she slept
Mimi came for a night! We snuggled on the couch, ordered an italian dinner, and had an awesome porch visit with gaga, mimi AND Nana (who drove in from tulsa for a few hours)
I got to go to 2 of Lolo's yoga classes, which this pregnant body desperately needed. she is such a good teacher!
B pushing Miss Pearl in the stroller =)
We rooted on the cowboys in a thrilling victory over the Texas Longhorns with the whole family at Pop and Gogs
There was a lot of chicken chasing
Also…B was naked for the majority of the trip
We had a couple of Candy visits!
We enjoyed a night out at the new Lozier's dock that Matt built with his own hands! I can't believe I have no pics, but it is beautiful! Lots of friends came to hang out and B went on her first car date with Brooks.
The girls became obsessed with giving each other "haircuts" with the play dough scissors
last sunset of our trip =( Also coincided with the Super Blood Moon which won't happen again for thirty something years.
Pop and Gog dropped us off at the airport and we were sad. But we were excited to get home to see Daddy too. We ended up having a 3.5 hour delay at the OKC airport, but B was once again a traveling champ.
We don't know when we will be in OK next, but I do know we will be a family of 4 when we do!
