If you're going to San Francisco...You're in luck b/c it's AWESOME!

We left our lovely friends in Scottsdale the morning of the 29th and headed out to finish up our road trip. We only had about 6 hours left which was nice. We arrived that evening and my lovely boyfriend kindly unloaded the car and uhaul while I attempted to start organizing. More importantly, packed another suitcase for our next adventure which started at 6:00 am the next morning. We were again up and at em and hit the road for the 5 hour trip to San Francisco! We arrived in San Fran and immediatley fell in love! It is the cutest, coolest, uniquest?, little city ever! We got to our hotel which was very close to Union square and China town. We loved our hotel! It was a quaint little place called the Mayflower. My favorite part was it had the old timey elevators where you open a real door and then pull a gate open. so cool! We cleaned up and walked down the block to hop on one of those fun, little, red trolleys. It took us to fishermans wharf where we hopped off and had a fantastic dinner of oysters, shrimp cocktail, a seafood manicotti type thing, and wine. After dinner we walked over to Giradelli Square, home to the famous chocolate. Legend has it that the smell of the chocolate factory would drive prisoners at Alcatrez crazy. We stopped at a pub for a few brews and started to head home. We were going to call it a night, but as we passed the Gold Rush Saloon on our way home we couldn't help but stick our heads in. There was a 3 old man band playing (that appearantly played every night of the week). We were by far the youngest chaps at the bar, but soon we became the life of the party. People were soon buying jess and I drinks as we got everybody to get out on the dance floor. We are fun. what can I say.

The whole night before was just to prepare us for our fun on New years Eve. We were going to Sea of Dreams! Sea of Dreams is just the epidemy of everything cool you can do on New Years eve. Basically we were going because String Cheese Incident was going to be playing. During the day we headed down to Union Square and I found an outfit to wear for the nights festivities. We had some friends in town staying at a different hotel that were going to the same show we were, so we headed downtown to their place to start the festive night. We then headed to the show. It was inside the concourse exhibition center but it might as well have been under the sea b/c of all the sea life decorations. It was so neat. There were 3 different stages where different bands were playing and people walking around on stilts. There was this one guy on weird stilts that made him look like the fawn from chroncles of narnia, kinda freaky. The music was awesome and the show went on until 4 in the morning! It was definatley a happy new year.

After sleeping in, we awoke and checked out of our hotel :( Being the hippies that we are, we headed down to the Haight/Ashbury district. We strolled through the thrift stores, bought Jess a Ramones record, bought presents for Nicole and Grayson (Jess's cousins), and tried to find where mama judy use to live back in her flower child days. She wasn't much help saying she only remembered that there was an oriental grocery store across the street. Wonder what she did in San Fran ;) Just kidding mom!

Jess's uncle Greg lives right across the Golden Gate bridge in Mill Valley, and just had twin baby girls, Adison and Keylee, on the 30th! So, we headed to the hospital to visit the girls, Greg and his wife, Laura. They were so precious and tiny! barely 5 pounds each. We were too tired to head back to LA, so we stayed at Greg's house. His house is an amazing three story establishment with balconies on all three floors overlooking the bay. We watched the crazy OU game with sleepy eyes, and got a good nights rest. The next morning we took Greg's other two kids, Nicole, 2, and Grayson,3, off his hands for a while and played, played, played! They are super cute and we had a good time. We then left for our long journey home which signified the close of our long adventure! We took the Pacific Coast Highway home which is about 5 hours longer but so gorgeous! It runs right along the coast the whole way. We finally made it home the evening of the 2nd and immediately crashed. What a great run of adventures. The below pics are very telling of this.

The greatest intersection ever.
