12 Hikes in "12 Months": #7 Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook

So…we did not quite make our 12 month goal in 2014, but we did not want to give up on our goal of 12 hikes.  So we are carrying on into 2015 and we did #7 last weekend!

We stayed close to home and drove to Culver City to tackle the crazy stairs and take in the beautiful, Los Angeles view of the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook.

We decided to not even bring the hiking backpack and let B tackle this one on foot.  She did great on the way up!  Took on a lot of the stairs herself and she did not want to take any shortcuts around the stairs!  

Mommy was silly and left her in a dress for the hike.  When we got to the top, she ran around very triumphant and fell on the gravel and skinned her knees and elbow =(

We rested on a bench at the top and took in the views.  You could see so much of the city!  from the beach to downtown to the hollywood sign.  

Her hair cracks me up in these photos!  She was not happy that she fell. 

We took the non stair way back down.  There were lots of flowers to see and smell.

We went to The Tavern in culver city for brews and lunch after the hike.  Breckin was PASSED OUT!  she snoozed in the booth for about 45 minutes before waking up for some french fries.
