On Friday, we got to see Leon Russell up close and personal. The show was at a dinner/theater place called the Canyon in Agoura hills. We arrived by 7 and they seated us a table up close since we had a reservation. We were served cocktails and steak while we watched the opening acts.

Sunset drive down the PCH, through Malibu Canyon, to Agoura Hills.
He came out in this awesome white coat/hat ensemble, and went right into jamming. We heard most the hits. He did really sped up versions of the songs. We think b/c his voice cannot hang like in his younger days. He still sounded great though! Our seats were perfect for watching him tickle the keys :)

He quickly shed his jacket to uncover this snazzy Hawaiian print top. Set list included: tight rope, hard rains gonna fall, song for you, delta lady, roll away the stone, wild horses...among others

He talked quite a bit in between songs and is a very good story teller. He teared up at one point talking about his idol and friend, BB King. He talked about Oklahoma quite a bit too, and we of course hooped and hollered like a couple of Okies.
He had us all pretend that he left the stage and came back for the encore. He said he is not too fond of walking so he just stayed put and sang another song.
No poster, but Jess got me this awesome shirt!
So glad we got to see Leon!
And this little lady stayed with Ryan and serene. They ordered pizza, watched the dodgers lose and had a good ol time. B was asleep in her crib when we got home. Go Ryan and serene!!
