After my last day of faculty meetings Jess surprised with a night on the town in Hollywood! We had been to hollywood dozens of times, but we had always talked about how fun it would be to get a hotel on the strip and not have to worry about getting back to Venice. So jess set it all up for us! He got us a room at the swanky Standard on the sunset strip. We arrived about 4:30 and went straight to pool side to order apps and a drink. It is a funny thing in Hollywood....pools/bars inside hotels are kind of the place to be. I'm thinking because they are still in the middle of everything, but they don't feel like it. The Standard pool is pretty famous for the blue turf and famous sightings. we didn't see anyone =(
We then headed over to Sky Bar (which is inside a swanky hotel). Jess has had to take several fancy, schmansy people here and always sees famous people. We didn't see anyone =(. BUT this was a super cool spot. We had to get there kind of early, otherwise they may have turned us away for not being cool enough. We got a super cool window seat that felt like you were on the edge of the top of the world. You could see almost all of LA.
Our next stop was the Rainbow Room. Our kind of bar. pretty grungy. bad tequila.
We ended the night back at The Standard. It was a great night!! Thanks jess!
